Delete your MachiSpot account

You can delete your MachiSpot account, and everything in it, at any time. There are two ways.

1. In the app (fastest)

Open MachiSpot, go to Profile → Settings → Delete my account, and confirm. Your account is deleted straight away.

2. By email

If you can't open the app, email hello@machispot.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my MachiSpot account". Include your username if you remember it. We delete the account within 30 days and email you when it's done.

Delete some of your data, and keep your account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove things. In the app:

A saved place, with its note, title and tags: open it and tap Remove saved place.
A route: open it, tap Edit, then Delete route.
A collection: open it and tap Delete collection. The places in it stay saved.
Your home location: Profile → Settings → Remove home.
Your display name: Profile → Settings, clear Your name and save.

Deleted items are removed from our server the next time your app syncs. For anything else, email hello@machispot.com from the email address on your account and tell us what to delete. We do it within 30 days. Backup copies are kept for up to 30 days, as below.

What gets deleted with your account

Your account: email address, password, username, display name and date of birth.
Everything you saved: places, notes, titles, tags, collections, routes and your home location.
Your follows, followers, follow requests, blocks and mutes.
Your sign-in sessions on every device.

What we may keep

Reports you sent about other people or places may be kept without your name, so they can still be acted on.
Private backup copies of the database are kept for 30 days to recover from mistakes, then deleted. Your data disappears from them when they do.

Deleting cannot be undone, and we cannot restore a deleted account. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
